Each camper participates in one class. Some classes may be canceled depending on the interest. This year, there is the option of registering at the bottom of this page. This method is both faster and easier. As an alternative, you can e-mail us at info@midwestleadershipcamp.org with your child's top three class preferences in order.

Rocketry
A traditional favorite, campers will build model rockets and launch them from Cape Cary Camp on the last day. During the process they will learn some basic physics and chemistry behind the rocket launching. If previous years were any indication, it will be a blast!
     Available to all campers.

Survival Skills
Want to be able to survive indefinitely in the woods with a pocketknife and a pack of matches? Well, this class is for you! Here, you will learn how to build fires and shelters, tie important knots, administer first aid, and acquire food in the wild. Watch out Rambo!
     Available to all campers.

Juggling
Juggling is one thing that many want to learn and few know how to do. With this class, you will learn how to juggle three balls in a basic pattern and learn a few basic and intermediate tricks so that you can put together a small routine to show to your friends and parents. Everyone and anyone can learn to juggle in this class. Juggling is a hobby that can easily be developed over time and illustrates what can happen with a little perseverance and practice. There is no previous experience necessary. Equipment will be provided.
     Available to all campers.

Journalism
Learn proper techniques on how to interview, write simple articles, and take polls. Work with other campers, counselors, and staff to gather information about everything going at camp and put it all together to create a daily newsletter that will be shared on the website and every night at dinner. You will have a lot of fun choosing who you want to interview, coming up with polls that interest you, and getting to experience every aspect of camp by reporting on it.
     Available to all campers.

Drama
Drama has sometimes been likened to an escape from reality, a chance to throw off our common faces and indulge in a variety of colorful personalities that we might like to experience. In the Drama Class, campers will be exposed to a variety of theatrical techniques to enhance their acting skills, such as improvisation, silent-acting, and small skit sessions, eventually working their way up to an original, short production. No prior experience is needed to join this class; all that is needed is a willingness to learn and a sense of humor. If you have ever been afraid of acting, now is the time to cast aside those fears and enjoy the stage!.
     Available to all campers.
